The Illinois Technology Association honors industry leaders making tech history.
The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) recently revealed the winners of the 2019 CityLIGHTS Awards at its premier annual event this past Thursday, Sept. 12 to commemorate the momentous achievements of the regional tech community.
Presented to the company with the strongest potential to emerge as a leader in the technology industry, TRUCE Software was granted the Rising Star award among a list of innovative, high-performing companies that have displayed exceptional growth and excellence.
“This year’s winners represent a milestone for the awards and more than two decades of historic success here in the Second City,” said Julia Kanouse, CEO, ITA. “Twenty years ago, Chicago tech was barely a blip on the city’s economic development radar. Now through the accomplishments of many ITA CityLIGHTS award winners and nominees over the years, it has become crucial to the future success of our economy and city as a whole.”
Because of the rigorous criterion and balanced judging process, the awards have become a strong indicator of future success. Not including this year’s honorees, CityLIGHTS award winners have amassed $53.4 billion in exits, $1.1 billion in IPO and $4.2 billion in venture capital.
“It’s an honor to have been nominated for this year’s CityLIGHTS Rising Star award among such a great group of companies that are each poised for success,” said Joe Boyle, CEO, TRUCE Software. “To win is an even greater feeling. I’d like to thank the entire TRUCE team for their collective energy, execution and can-do attitude that made this recognition a reality. I have tremendous pride in what we are building together.”
